Mobile Rock Climbing Wall Rental

The Fun Ones provides Chicago and its suburbs with the largest selection of rock climbing walls available in the Midwest. No matter what your event, we have a rock wall that will meet your needs. Our mobile rock walls can be setup indoors or outdoors for year round fun.

When it comes to picking what rock climbing wall to select for your event, here are some things to consider.

1. Difficulty required - Each one of our walls has custom climbing lanes so that there is an easy, medium and difficult lane. If your event is going to have all kids, then choosing a wall with easy lanes

2. Throughput - Throughput is how many people per hour can take a turn climbing. When calculating how many turns per hour the things to consider are how many climbing lanes there are, the taller the lanes the longer the turns, the difficulty on the lanes, and the age of the people climbing.

3. Pricing - The height of the wall and and the number of climbing lanes determines the price of any rock climbing wall.

It accommodates up to 4 climbers and has a realistic granite rock look and feel. The four climber wall is great for large events where throughput and the ultimate challenge is important.

It is the only rock wall in the Midwest with a 4 foot overhang for the overachievers in the group. The features of this wall are unique to the climbing industry and will stand out at any event.

The climber uses a harness and begins climbing up the rocks (handholds) and is secured with a safety line that is self-belaying.

The rock wall comes with many harnesses so there is no waiting once a climber finishes, the next climber is ready to go.

Every year we switch the hand holds around on the rock wall so that each year you get a new challenge.

25 Foot Mobile Rock Climbing Wall with 5 Climbing Lanes

This rock wall has the highest through put of any rock wall. So, when you have an event and want to maximize the number of climbers, this is the rock wall to choose. Each of the climbing lanes have a different challenge in it.. This is the most unique rock wall in the industry. On one side of the wall you must climb while avoiding the waterfall. On the other side of the rock wall, you can use the tree built into the wall to climb to the top. Each lane has its own bell at the top. Every lane uses a hydraulic belay system for safety.

Climber Weight Limits: 45lbs to 250lbs

Area requirement: 30' x 45' area

This is the Waterfall side of the 5 Lane rock wall. There are no climbing holds on the Waterfall, so one must climb around it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Rock Climbing safe?
Obviously yes. This system was manufactured and is maintained to the highest standards. The "Auto-Belay" cable safety system is ASTM F-24 compliant. Our climbing rock wall crew is trained to ensure a safe and positive experience every time. Bottom line - this is very safe.

Ok, so what does "Auto-Belay" mean?
This is the hydraulic cable safety system that the climber is attached to. It allows them to automatically and safely descend to the ground on their own. It also allows the wall crew to concentrate on coaching and encouraging the climber instead of using a rope to manually control their descent.

Is there an age limit?
We have had 3 year olds climb the wall and we have had a 75 year old climb the wall. All it takes is the right attitude.

Is there a weight limit?
There is no real lower limit. If a child is strong enough to pull themselves up the wall they can climb. We will help the younger climbers ascend to a certain degree. However, the child needs to do most of the work. We don't recommend that people climb that are heavier than 225 - 250 lbs.

How much space is required to setup the rock wall?
The climbing wall while attached to the trailer itself is 40 feet long and 8 feet wide. The area needed to provide safe use for the climbers is another 6 feet on each side and 15 feet in front of the wall. There can be no no overhead obstructions up to 32 feet'. In total the minimum space required is 55 feet long by 20 feet wide and 32 feet tall. Always allow some additional area towards the front of the rock wall for crowds to gather and form a line. Our trucks tow the walls into place on tandem axel trailers. Tight turns sometimes prohibit our trucks to maneuver into place. If we arrive and are unable to setup due to space restrictions, 50% of the rental is still due.

What is the rain policy?
If you cancel due to weather, you must cancel between 24 and 48 hours prior to delivery for a full refund. If you cancel at time of delivery, 50% of the rental is due. Once we start setting up the rock wall, 100% is due with no exceptions.

What if it rains or there is lightening?
Climbing can still be done during light rains. However if there is any lightening or thunder, we reserve the right to shut the ride down until a minimum 15 minutes has passed with no lightening or thunder. There are no refunds due to weather conditions.
